A lot is written about linking campaigns and
Search Engine success .. proceed with caution !
OK, so you've spent a lot of time, money and
effort building and optimising your site. But nothing is happening
in the search engines, your rank is low or you simply aren't being
found in the major engines.
OK, time to put a Linking Strategy into action.
But first, you need tp make sure you understand
the basics. Link popularity is the measure of 'inbound' links to
your web site. But rather than simply trading links with any site
you find or any e-mail request your receive, be very selective about
the sites from which you request links. Search engines use complex
and sophisticated algorithms rules when judging the importance of
a link - one of them being the popularity of the site linking to
you. For example a site with complimentary content with a Google
Pagerank of 5 or higher is infinitely more important and valuable
than 25 links with Pageranks of 3 or less that contain little or
no valid content..
And once you do secure great links, don't
expect to grow your link popularity overnight. Site ranking will
improve over time with good links but make sure you allocate a couple
of hours a week on link building..
Link building is an incremental activity -
